Skiing/
    Snowboarding

Skiing is one of the most popular activities in Sundance. Since 1987, skiing with Sundance has centered around a series of various ski lodges and offered some of the best skiing in southern Vermont. The current Sundance ski lodge is located on a quiet, residential street in the quaint village of Ludlow, Vermont, at the foot of Okemo Mountain.

Because Sundance has its own ski lodge we are able to offer skiing weekends every weekend from late November to early April. While most lodge slots are reserved in shares before the winter season begins, many times there is space available for those who wish to stay for only a single weekend. These weekends are available at a cost well below what you would pay to book similar ski opportunities on your own!

Sundancers ski both downhill and cross-country, at levels from beginner to expert.

Sundance often participates in the semi-annual Igloo Ski Weekend in New England, as well as Gay Ski Week in Aspen, Colorado, and offers occasional day trips to upstate New York.

    Questions and Answers

Q: Do you do cross-country skiing?

A: Yes. We also downhill-ski and snowboard from easy slopes to expert runs. We also do some snowshoeing.

Q: I have not skied for a while and would like to start again, but am concerned about my ability to keep up with a group.

A: You are not alone. There are skiers in Sundance at all ability levels. Sundancers are very friendly and you will fit right in.

Q: Are there one-day ski outings?

A: There have been day trips to the Catskills in upstate New York and other nearby ski areas, but most Sundance ski outings are weekend-long.

Q: How and when are ski trips planned?

A: In late September or October, our annual ski planning meeting is held. This is also the time when shares in the Sundance ski lodge in Ludlow, Vermont are first sold. The lodge is perennially popular and if you are interested in securing a share in the cycle you want, you are urged to attend this meeting. Skating

From rollerblading in Central Park on a warm Sunday in June to ice skating under the gaze of the Prometheus statue in Rockefeller Center in late winter, skating in Sundance is a year-round activity. Skaters at all levels from novice to expert are welcome on our outings. We are there to have fun and enjoy company and making new friends.

On the first Tuesday of each month, Sundancers get together at the South Orange Arena in West Orange, New Jersey, to ice-skate. It is informal, relaxed and a great evening workout. See the last page of Sundance’s monthly newsletter, Crosswinds, for more details of the West Orange ice skating outings.
