Houses

Sundance members enjoy the use of several rented vacation houses. These houses have operated for many years, and are available to members exclusively for their use and enjoyment. In addition to the fun provided, people staying at the houses report that they encounter great times, wonderful, shared experiences, and have met many new friends in the process.

    Ski Lodge

In winters past, from November to early April, Sundance has rented a popular ski lodge in Vermont. Unfortunately, as a result of the current economic climate and a subsequent dip in commitment level, we will not be renting a house for the 2009-2010 ski season. We do, however, continue to maintain our Skiing/Snowboarding activity team, which coordinates winter sport outings and trips. E-mail skiing@sundanceoutdoor.org for more info.

Fire Island Beach House (click here)

One of our members, Richard D’Addario, rents a beach house in the Fire Island Pines from May until late September. Mr. D’Addario markets shares directly to Sundancers, offering us “first dibs” at shares and individual weekends, and at prices considerably less than the “market” rate. Our monthly newsletter, Crosswinds, lists available full and partial shares and individual weekends.  Check it out….the Beach House might be just the thing for you!

    Vacation House

For the past 10 years, Sundance maintained a third, rented house in the town of Millerton, NY, approximately 100 miles directly north of NYC, in the Taconic mountain range. Countless hikes, bike rides, swimming trips, cross-country and downhill ski trips, cultural outings and couch-potato-style activities took place within the confines of the “Taconic Lodge.”  Perhaps just as importantly, dozens of friendships among Sundancers developed as a result of the experiences the Lodge provided us.

In April of 2006, a new landlord bought the house and kept the property for his own use, so we lost the use of our beloved Lodge, to the chagrin of many.
