    An engineering marvel in its day, the Aqueduct now serves as a 23 mile trail from the Bronx to the New Croton Reservoir in northern Westchester County. We'll hike the southern portion of the trail, from Tarrytown to Yonkers,

    This is a good hike along relatively level but often rocky trails to Pine Meadow Lake in Harriman State Park, with pretty waterfalls and a great lunch spot overlooking the water.

    Starting from the terminus of the #1 line in the Bronx, well take a short hike up into the northern section of Van Cortland Park, checking out the stables and the Van Cortland family vault.

    PAWLING CAT ROCKS HIKE.

    This hike will follow the AT as it heads east through a patchwork series of open fields and forest. After about four miles, the trail ascends a small if steep ridge with a set of ledges that overlook the surrounding area.
